Maharshi Vyaas criticized in Maratha literary meet
Jyeshtha Shuddha Trutiya/Chaturthi
Akola (Maharashtra): Shivraj Maharaj, president of Kaikadi Maharaj Sansthan, Pandharpur said in the fifth Maratha Literary meet sponsored by Jagatguru Tukobaraya Sahitya Parishad at Nagpur that birth of Maharshi Vyaas took place out of perversity. Instead of using his name for the podium as ‘vyaas-peeth’, it should be named as ‘Vichar- peetha’. (Our scholars have said that ‘Vyaasochhishtam Jagat Sarvam’ which means that there is not a single subject in this world which is not touched upon by Maharshi Vyaas. Therefore, before changing the word ‘Vyaas-peetha’, one needs to consider this important point! – Editor)
In the inaugural speech, he said further, “One who stood against 18 ‘puranas myths’ is a saint. The literature of Saint Tukaram contains knowledge of all so-called ‘Buddhas’. Literature should put forth the realities of the world; something written based on one’s imagination is not literature.
The program was attended by Pravin Darade, District Collector of Nagpur, Purushottam Khedekar, the founder president of Maratha Sewa Sangh, MLA Rekha Khedekar and many office bearers of Jijau Brigade and Sambhaji Brigade.

Mumbai: Fifth all India Literati meet has been organised on behalf of Jagatguru Tukobaray Sahitya Parishada sponsored by Maratha Sewa Sangh on 23rd and 24th May at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall. The meet will be attended by personalities like Dr. S. N. Pathan, the Vice-chancellor of ‘Rashtra-Sant’ Tukadoji Maharaj University, Nagpur, former Education Minister Vasant Purke, Purushottam Khedekar, Rekha Khedekar, District Collector Pravin Darade, Netaji Gore besides office bearers of Maratha Sewa Sangh and Sambhaji Brigade.
Considering the past history of the literati meet, it is likely that there could be criticism on Hindu Dharma, deities, saints and national heroes by the speakers. Devout Hindus are, therefore, keeping a vigil on the meet and wondering about the reaction of Hindu organizations.
