Jalgaon :Many staunch Hindus from the city and nearby areas have registered their protest over phone against denigration of Lord Ganesh by publishing His photograph on the last page of Lokmat where he is shown as sitting in front of a computer. A meeting was held of Shiv Sena, Hindu Jana-jagruti Samiti, Savarkar Auto-rikshaw Union, Hindu Mahasabha etc. wherein it was decided to register their protest against the newspaper ‘Dainik Lokmat’.
Earlier, the news was published about the denigration in ‘Dainik Samna’. In the 5th August issue of Jalgaon edition of ‘Dainik Lokmat’, on the last page under the heading ‘Remix’, Lord Ganapati has been shown sitting in front of a computer with a title ‘Will you play computer with me?’ below His photograph. The picture has been drawn by Anand Akole, an artist from Jalgaon. In this picture, mockery is made of Lord Ganapati, the deity of Knowledge. All staunch Hindus therefore, came together and protested against such mockery by calling up the Resident Editor of the daily. He said that the purpose behind publishing the picture was not making mockery of the deity, in fact, they published the picture as Ganapati is the deity of ‘knowledge’. Shri Sadanand Patil of Shiv Sena asked the editor if he would have published such photograph with a political leader or an artist sitting with a computer. Several staunch Hindus registered their protest by calling up the office of Lokmat.
