Panaji : A delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has appealed to the Director of Education, Mr. Gajanan Bhat recently through a memorandum stating to awaken respect for the nation among students to avoid disrespect to the National Flag on the Republic Day. The delegation comprised Mrs. Lata Dhavlikar, Headmaster Mr. Umesh Naik, Retd. teacher, Mr. Parshuram Prabhudesai. Director Mr. Bhat appreciated the campaign.
It is stated in the memorandum that, unfortunately the society today has forgotten the national pride and hence the National Flags which are taken along with pride while celebrating 26th January meaning, the ‘Republic Day’ are seen lying on the streets, drains, filthy places in the afternoon of the same day itself. This is a great insult to the National Flag. Therefore HJS has initiated the campaign, ‘Save the honour of the National Flag’. It is very essential to create awareness among students as they are the future generation. The HJS organizes campaigns like giving lectures, questionnaires, hand-bills giving information, collecting the National Flags lying on streets etc. So also the HJS organizes in various places exhibitions of the flex charts giving information about the revolutionaries along with their respective pictures. There is also an appeal to the Education department to allow the HJS to take up these programmes in schools.
Demand to publish information related to ‘Sanskars’ on the note-books distributed on behalf of the Government is made with the Director Mr. Gajanan Bhat through a memorandum. The necessary matter is also given to the Director Mr. Bhat and Mr.Bhat also has agreed to put up the demand before Government.
