Protest against anti-Hindu ‘Anti-Superstitions’ Bill
Pune (Maharashtra): “One needs good mental power to understand science of astrology. The science makes predictions with the help of relation between the moon, sun and ‘nakshatras’. Astrology can not be considered as superstition.” The above views were expressed by Dr. Sushilkumar Shinde, the Central Energy minister and a leader of Congress. He was speaking in the prize distribution program organized by ‘Bhagyasanket Parivar’. (The Congressmen are known for turning their back as per the flow of the wind. They, therefore, speak whatever the organizer of a program they are attending would like to hear. If Shinde is really concerned about the science of astrology, he should use his post and do something for the preservation and progress of this science so as to prove his interest in astrology! – Editor SP)
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, the expert in Computer Science said on the occasion that it was very difficult to prepare a ‘model’ of weather forecast. But the almanac has been making predictions regarding rain fall etc. for a long time. It was therefore, necessary to make use of all three i.e. science, traditional knowledge and standard practices to devise Indian method of seeking information.
Mr. Mohan Date, the maker of almanac said, “Till ministers go to astrologers, the anti-superstitions law would not be passed.” (Hindus should not believe a single word uttered by the Minister as it is the practice of politicians to betray their own people! – Editor SP)
