Govt. bows down to united strength of warakaris
Warakari brethren! Do not rely on the Chief Minister’s promise; but follow up the matter till ban is imposed on anti-Hindu literature!
Pandharpur: Warakaris had demanded ban on such literature and statements that limits saints to politics of casteism. They had also warned to stop the ‘palakhis’ in Vakhari if their demand was not fulfilled. The Chief Minster had to bow before the resolve of Warakaris. He issued an order to the Executive Director and Secretary of Information and Public Relations Directorate to verify the demand made by Warakaris and take action against the concerned. A letter regarding the above issue was received by HBP. Balasaheb Maharaj Arphalkar, the owner of ‘Dindi’ of ‘Devachi Alandi’, HBP. Rameshwar Maharaj Shastri, the president of Warakari Mahamandal besides all Warakaris and Fadakaris.
The Directorate has asked the warakaris to submit such literature to the Government within 10 days. The warakaris have decided to form a separate committee to handle the issue of their demands made to the Government. They are also considering forming another legal committee to take up with the Government enacting of a law to prevent denigration of deities, saints and great national leaders taking place in various forms. Necessary papers and literature will be submitted through the medium of this committee for enactment of anti-denigration law.
It was declared that as per the request made by the Chief Minister, the ‘palakhi’ of Dnyaneshwar Maharaj will be taken to Pandharpur instead of halting at Vakhari.
Babanrao Pachpute condemns the defamatory matter written about saints
A meeting will be held with the Chief Minister Shri. Ashok Chavan and 7 chiefs of ‘palakhis’ and ‘Warakari Fadakari’ members after the ‘Ashadhi wari’ to take decision on the defamatory matter written about saints. I condemn, on behalf of the Government, the derogatory matter written about saints. The above statement was made by Shri. Babanrao Pachpute, the State Forest Minister in a press conference held at the Government Rest House at 8.30 p.m. yesterday.
