The Communist party of India (Marxist), Kerala State Committee in their Nava Kerala March have used a display board at Ambadimukku in Kannur in which Pinarayi Vijayan has been portrayed as Arjun and P. Jayarajan, as Shrikrushna. Shrikrushna is a highly revered Deity in Hinduism, and Hindus worship Him with immense faith. Depiction of Him in such a manner has offended the religious sentiments of Hindus. Similarly, showing Arjun, a revered figure from the Hindu Holy epic Mahabharata, trivializes him and the Holy epic.
Alert Hindus notified Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) regarding this denigration of Shrikrushna and Arjun. Accordingly, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti wrote to Communist party of India asking them to remove the denigrating display board from their March, but there has been no response from them. (The letter explaining the denigration is published below.)

Namaste,
We at Hindu Janajagruti Samiti have received complaints from Hindus regarding a display board of the Nava Kerala March at Ambadimukku in Kannur in which Pinarayi Vijayan has been portrayed as Arjuna and P. Jayarajan, as Shrikrushna.
The depiction of P. Jayarajan as Shrikrushna is outrageous and insulting as it denigrates the revered Hindu Deity and Hinduism. Would you depict political leaders in the form of Deities or prophets of other religions in this manner? Shrikrushna is a highly revered Deity in Hinduism, and Hindus worship Him with immense faith. Your depiction of Him in such a manner has offended the religious sentiments of Hindus. Similarly, showing Arjun, a revered figure from the Hindu Holy epic Mahabharata, trivializes him and the Holy epic. So we request you to remove this display board from your program immediately.
We would also request you to review any material to be published at any future date to ensure that it is not offensive to Hindu religious sentiments. HJS can help with the reviewing of such material if requested.

Sincerely,
Ms. Praneeta Sukhtankar
