Insisting for gifted lands of Devasthans is a conspiracy of leftists !
Mumbai : From olden days, kings ruling over this country till Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s regime, built big temples and gifted lands to them so that the expenses of managing the temples didn’t have to be borne by the kings. It was helping in not only managing temples but also in looking after farmers’ families toiling on these lands. After independence, all kingdoms were dissolved and leaders elected by people indulged in corrupt practices; took this country to doldrums. In addition, leftists, who are always criticizing Dharma, are hatching plot to grab temple-lands although temples are in no way involved in this. They are pretending that they are doing it for welfare of farmers but their motive is only to take care of their selfish interests. If the Devasthans’ lands are transferred in the name of farmers, will these leftist parties bear the cost of managing temples ? Demand should be made to take over lands of corrupt politicians who are destroying farmers and forcing them to commit suicide. Why leftist parties demanding to hand over temples’ lands to farmers, never dare to make such demand in case of lands belonging to churches and Wakf Boards, says the press release of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) published by Shri. Sunil Ghanavat.
It has been further stated in the press release that
1. Warning was recently given by ‘Bharatiya Kisan Sabha’ and other farmers’ organizations that their activists would voluntarily get arrested all over the State.
2. Hindus’ Devasthans are already under control of the Government through some medium and there are malpractices and corruption in managing these temples which are exposed periodically such as Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, Shri Vitthal Mandir in Pandharpur, Shri Saibaba Mandir in Shridi or Shri Bhavanimata Mandir in Tuljapur.
HJS, along with like-minded organizations, has staged movement against corruption in Devasthans’ management. Under this movement, HJS was successful in getting back 300 acres of land out of 1200 acres to Sri. Vitthal Devasthan of Pandharpur. HJS and other organizations have also started agitation to trace 7000 acres of land missing from 24000 acres of 3067 temples which are under control of Western Maharashtra. HJS has been successful in starting inquiry into this issue through State Crime Investigation Department’s special squad.
3. Today, Hindu Dharma is under attack from all sides. In such situation, temples provide spiritual strength and energy to Hindus; but conspiracy hatched through such drives are used for elimination of temples; but farmers should not fall prey to such conspiracy.
