Religious traditions will be protected come what may : Resolve by Shani devotees

‘Chalo Shani Shingnapur’ drive under movement for protection of Hindus’ religious traditions

Shani Shingnapur (Maharashtra) : On 26th January, so-called progressive and atheist women are planning to climb the temple sanctum of Shanidev at Shani Shingnapur so as to break the age-old religious tradition. Local residents, Shani-devotees and ‘Hindutvavadis’ have resolved to oppose such anti-religious tradition acts and stage agitations. More than 2000 Shani-devotees and ‘Hindutvavadis’ will be participating in the agitation. Protection of religious traditions and maintaining law and order are the responsibilities of police and local administration; but if they fail to do so, local residents would protect religious traditions in any case, was the resolve made by Shani-devotees and local residents.

Police have started providing protection at temple sanctum of Shri Shanidev. Many ‘Hindutvavadis’ and women Shani-devotees have been sending their response for joining the agitations on 26th January. Local residents have decided to see to it that police and devotees would not be harassed in any manner; as also to mainly extend cooperation to police. Hoardings and posters have been displayed throughout Nagar district for creating awareness amongst people on the above issue.
