Report of HJS members Meet at Kolathur (Chennai)

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has organized a meeting on 20th December 2015 at Veer Savarkar Matric School, Kolathur, Chennai. The meeting started with prarthana, followed by a video display in Tamil about Datta Jayanti (falls on 24 Dec’15) and its spiritual significance. Then Samiti’s activities were explained with the help of video. Then a lecture on Stress Management was presented by HJS volunteer Sou. Suganthi Jaikumar. Ten people from Kolathur area participated in meeting. Meeting concluded with interaction with attendees and by paying gratitude.

Sri. Ellapan from VHP (South Chennai satsang in-charge) attended meeting and felt that Personality Defect Removal (PDR) sadhana is very much essential. He usually arranges bhajans and told that this is more important where people will be benefitted. So next time during their bhajan programs he has planned to invite HJS to conduct satsangs.

A Committee member of Selva Vinayagar temple told they also organize camps for Spiritual development. He told that as a mark of respect and tolerance, they start program with prayers which includes all religions (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddha etc.). HJS volunteer Shriram Luktuke explained other religions are having system to preach about their religion (thru church, madarasa etc.) but today Hindus lack in pride for dharma. Hindu dharma encompasses & thinks about each & everything (living & even non-living things), hence we don’t need certificate from anyone about greatness of Hindu dharma & ‘tolerance’; instead we focus on giving dharma-shiksha & dharma-rakshan.  He told that HJS can start satsang at their temple.

One HJS website visitor attended the meeting with curiosity & clarified his doubts about ‘spiritual practice’.

Shri. Mohanji, Correspondent of the School and State Vice President for BJP’s education cell, not only gave permission to conduct this meet but also helped us with the hall arrangement.
