Scheveningen (Netherlands): Hindu spiritual care providers will now be officially commissioned by the government to work in prisons. The Hindu Council has been made responsible for assigning Hindu spiritual caregivers to criminal mental facilities, youth custodial institutions and illegal immigrant detention centers.

Five pandits are already providing mental health care to prisoners on a freelance basis for the Judicial Service Organization of the Ministry of Justice.
