Chennai : Recently Padma Seenivasan Memorial Vidyalaya Matriculation School, Kolathur, Chennai has organized Vilakku Poojai (worship of lamps) for the parents of the school children. The school management invited Hindu Janajagruti Samiti to guide the parents on ‘Nation and Dharma’ before the pooja starts. Sou. Suganthi Jaikumar of HJS guided the parents on the role of Parents in bringing up the kids. While explaining the current state of society that children are getting influenced very much by Western culture; she reiterated the example of ideal mother Jijabai, a mother of great Hindu warrior and King Shivaji Maharaj. She said as today all mothers have gathered here, let us put efforts in molding our children as good citizens, who will discharge their duties towards Nation and Dharma sincerely and honestly.
Sou. Suganthi said to bring this change we have to take first step. To imbibe dharmacharan on kids we can do simple things like doing namaskar to elderly people at home, every evening when we light lamp in front of Deity we should sit with kids for ‘sandhya-vandan’, do chanting, while cooking food we can chant. Sanatan’s holy text were displayed at venue, along with flex posters about dharmacharan. More than 50 mothers participated in pooja. Shri. Sriram Luktuke did the photo seva.
The school principal Shri. Rajaram and Vice-Principal Smt. Tamil Selvi are taking many such initiatives to imbibe good qualities in students and create awareness about greatness of Hindu Dharma.
