Ernakulum (Kerala): The activists of HJS had been to Maharaja College here for educating the students and spreading awareness about how to prevent the disrespect to the National Flag. Plastic flags should not be used because they are frequently trampled upon thereby insulting the National Flag.
The Principal of the college was requested that a flex board be put in the college which would educate the students regarding the respect towards the flag. However when he was shown the flex board he said, “This is the government’s job. Why does HJS need to do this? I am a citizen and I will do whatever I like. I will abide by the rule only if the government declares so. Who has given permission to HJS to frame such rules?” Then HJS activists told him that the government rules already exist in this regard and they were there just to educate and spread awareness; but he was in no mood to listen. (Does this principal of Maharaja College deserve to be called a principal considering his arrogant behaviour with HJS activists who had gone there with the intention of preventing any insult to the National Flag? Whether government rules exists or not if the college principal himself is so callous about any insult to the National Flag then how can he guide the students on respect towards the Nation?-Editor)
The HJS has been working incessantly for the last seven years for the sake of the Nation and Righteousness by conducting various campaigns every year towards educating the masses. The campaign for preventing the disrespect to the National Flag on account of 15th August by visiting schools, colleges or women’s groups was part of this. HJS is as been receiving a good response elsewhere.
When HJS members visited the Bhavan School here on account of this campaign, the head-master of the school said, “I was supposed to purchase plastic flags for the students; but now that you have made me aware of the disrespect to National Flag that could result when plastic flags are used, I will not purchase them.”
