Jharkhand : The Central Govrnment of India has agreed to Jharkhand’s proposal to set up a Sanskrit University in the state’s Deoghar district.
The approval came during a meeting between Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani in New Delhi, an official release said here in Delhi.
The high level meeting at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi was attended by Central HRD Minister, Jharkhand CM, Jharkhand higher and technical education minister, Union HRD secretary and senior officials from the Centre as well as the state.
The meeting approved various important proposals related to educational reforms in the state.
Centre assured the state of all possible assistance for improving the education standard in Jharkhand. After his meeting with Union HRD minister, Das said that the meeting was highly satisfactory as Jharkhand received many benefits, including formation of Sanskrit University in Deoghar as well as commencing IIT classes from this session itself at ISM Dhanbad.

Deoghar and its nearest vicinity have various Muth, Ashrams and Gurukuls dealing with education on Sanskrit based philosophy, literature, linguistics and philology.
