Painful Ridicule of Lord Ganesh on Internet

Ridicule of Lord Ganesh With the approaching of the ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ festival there has been use of Lord Ganesh for various reasons. This was a very painful ridicule of Lord Ganesha wherein Ganapati is shown as a cartoon, crying because he has lost his mouse and is demanding it back before his birthday. This mail was forwarded to Shri. Vikrant Chitale by his Hindu friend who in turn reported it to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti as he found this denigration very cruel. This mail must be in circulation to thousands of people. The image kept here is not for offending feelings of anybody but to show how Lord Ganesh is being denigrated.

Why such cartoons are offensive?

1. Depicting Lord in such unscientific way is denigration.
2. This picture doesn’t convey any meaningful message, but it is just ridicule.
3. The designer of cartoon has used Ganesh as a subject for momentary amusement.
4. Forwarding such mails knowingly or unknowingly, is resulting in sinful act of propagating denigration.
5. The forms of Gods are defined in scriptures and they should not be distorted for artistic pleasure.
6. As per Hinduism ‘Art is not just for sake of art, but for God realization.’

Appeal to All Ganesh Devotees:

If you have received such mails, please reply the sender asking to read this news. By this way you can help to stop propagation of this painful ridicule. You can request your friend to do same.

Even if you have not received this email, please ask your friends to go through this news, in order to avoid such painful activities.

Adarniya Pravakta,

Ganapati Utsav is fast approaching. I have come across an email which has used Lord Ganesha as a cartoon. Irony is that it was forwarded to me by one of my HINDU friends. I am sure this would be circulated through email to thousands. I thought of forwarding it to you as I found it offensive.

Best regards
Vikrant
