E-mail sent by Mr. Nimish Padhye

This is with regards to your advertisement of MITCON which features Lord Krishna in a denigratory manner. It is really disappointing and disheartening to see such an advertisement featuring Lord Krushna.

It is incorrect to show Lord Krushna in such a way and use it for your business benefit. It has hurt the religious sentiments of all Hindus…. Kindly stop this advertisement……

Awaiting your response,
A true Hindu.

Details of Denigration

HJS demands ‘MITCON’ to stop denigration of Lord Krushna in Advertisement

Pune (Maharashtra): ‘MITCON’ company is broadcasting its advertisement that denigrates Lord Krushna on different channels. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti submitted a memorandum to MITCON’s Deputy Chairman Mr. Sopan Waware demanding the removal of the scene defaming Lord Krushna from the advertisement.

This advertisement has a youth standing before a picture of Krushna and Arjun hanging on wall. Then the image Lord Krushna and Arjun disappears from the picture, following which Lord Krushna comes forward and gives information of ‘MITCON’ to the youth. (Use of Deities for the purpose of advertising mere material commodities and depicting Deities in a regular human terms is nothing but the defamation of the Deity ! – Editor SP)

The Samiti has said in its memorandum, “Broadcasting of such advertisements on different channels had hurt the religious sentiments of all Hindus. The company has not taken into account how this advertisement will affect the mentality of society. No one should remain under a cloud of false assumptions thinking that, ‘We can do just about anything with Hindu Deities’. If this advertisement is not taken back, HJS will lodge a complaint as per IPC section 295 (A) for hurting religious sentiments.”

The Samiti has urged MITCON to stop the defamation of Lord Krushna by removing an objectionable part from the advertisement. Mr. Waware has given an assurance that this defamatory advertisement would be withdrawn by the next day. At this time Mr. Hemant Borkar of BJYM and HJS members Mr. Sunil Ghanwat and Mr. Hemant Shinde were present.
