Success of Hindu unity : Scheduled lecture of Shrimant Kokate cancelled

BJP’s MLA Lakshman Jagatap receiving representation from Hindutvavadis

Pimpri (Pune) : A lecture of Shrimant Kokate was organized in Sangavi area but it was cancelled due to united prompt efforts of pro-Hindu organizations.

On 27th February at 7.30 p.m., Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) had arranged a lecture at Sangavi by Shrimant Kokate, under its Shivjayanti celebrations program on life history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; but considering the past history and habit of Shrimant Kokate of distorting true history; his spitting venom against Brahmin community, depicting image of Chhatarpati Shivaji Maharaj as a pro-Muslim king, it was demanded that his lecture should be cancelled. (Is it the ignorance of officers of PCMC that they organized Kokate’s lecture despite his always distorting true history and propagating perverted history or is it promotion by PCMC- administration of anti-history stance ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

All pro-Hindu organizations, therefore, submitted representations at 6 places demanding cancellation of the above lecture. Activists of VHP, Shri. Shiva-pratishthan, Kendrai Gou-shala, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Akhil Pimpri-Chinchawad Shivjayanti Mahotsava Samiti and Shiva-Vandana Pratishthan (Dange Chowk) etc. were present on the occasion.

1. Delegation of ‘Hindutvavadis’ submitted representation to Sou. Shakuntala Dharade, the Mayor of PCMC on learning about the program. Later, when she was contacted for follow up, she informed that the representation demanding cancellation of lecture was forwarded to Municipal Commissioner.

2. Shri. Rajeev Jadhav, the Municipal Commissioner was also submitted such representation about cancellation of lecture. He promised to consider the demands made through representation.

3. Police Commissioner Shri. Basavraj Teli of ‘Circle-3’ and Sangavi police station were also given representations.

4. Representation was submitted to BJP-MLA Shri. Lakshman Jagatap at Pimple-Gurav. Shri. Jagatap promptly called up the concerned persons; informing them about representation being submitted by ‘Hindutvavadis’ regarding cancellation of program and advised them to organize lecture of another speaker; instead of Kokate.

5. Shrikant Pathak, Dy. Police Commissioner of Pune said on receiving the representation, “Under freedom of expression, we cannot cancel such lecture within the framework of law. If there are any adverse after-effects of such lecture, then we can file case against the speaker and organizers. (Instead of filing case after venomous speech, if attempts are made to avoid such speeches considering earlier lectures given by anti-history Kokate; it would prevent people getting misled by such speeches. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Shri. Abhijit Shinde of ‘Akhil Pimpri-Chinchwad Shivajayanti Mahotsav Samiti’, Shri. Kunal Sathe, Shri. Sanjay Shelake of Shiva-Vandana Pratishthan, Shri. Datta Gavhane of Shri. Shiva-Pratishthan, Shri. Dhanaji Shinde of VHP, Shri. Dilip Shete, Shri. Sandesh Kadam, Shri. Raghunath Dhobale, Shri. Rupesh Kamathe etc. were present while submitting representations.
