Success of movement of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
Memorandum submitted to Dy. District Collector in Jalgaon
Jalgaon (Maharashtra): Yesterday Hindu Janajagruti Samiti submitted memorandum to Dy. District Collector seeking ban on the sale of fire crackers with pictures of Deities and National Heroes. Mr. Ramesh Kale, the Dy. District Collector assured the activists of HJS that he would inform the Superintendent of Police regarding taking action against the sellers of such fire crackers.
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Every year fire crackers are burst during Diwali; some of which are with pictures of Deities and National Heroes. When such crackers are burst, the pictures of Deities and National Heroes get torn to shreds and are scattered everywhere. These pieces are trampled by people as they fall on the roads resulting in their denigration. HJS has undertaken a campaign to ban sale of such firecrackers for the last 6 years. As an outcome of its continuous efforts, three wholesale dealers of firecrackers from Palghar and Boisar area have decided not to sale firecrackers with pictures of Deities and National heroes.
Mr. Pritam Ghupatrao of Pritam Sales Agency, Mr. Vikas Patkar of Siddhivinayak Sales Agency both from Dahanu and Mr. Pritam Shubhash Manor of Prasad Traders in Vada (Dahanu) have decided not to sell firecrackers with pictures of Deities and National Heroes. All the 3 wholesalers buy huge stocks of firecrackers from Shivkashi; but this year, they decided not to buy firecrackers with pictures of Deities and National Heroes and stuck to their decision. When HJS activists had gone to meet them, they were told about the decision. The wholesalers even offered their stocks to be checked by HJS activists to confirm. When HJS activists checked there, no firecrackers with pictures of Deities and National Heroes were found. Most of the retailers from Dahanu, Palghar and Boilsar area buy firecrackers from these three dealers only. This year, therefore, the extent of sale of such fire crackers will be reduced.
