HJS conducts collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ and processions to welcome Hindu New Year

Tuljapur (Dist. Dharashiv) : Hindus spontaneously came together on the occasion of Gudhi Padava from different villages of Tuljapur taluka and ‘Gudhi-pujan’ was done collectively on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). ‘Gudhi-pujan’ was performed by Shri. Ambadas Bembalkar at Sindphal; by Shri. Bhaskar Patil at Nanduri, by Shri. Vasant Giri, priest of Mahadev Mandir at Sarola, by Shri. Dhage Guruji at Kati; by Shri. Dhondiba Mali at Kakranba, by Shri. Balaji Panchal at Apsinga and by Shri. Bharat Dharmadhikari at Tuljapur.
HJS took out a procession to welcome Hindu New Year at Tuljapur at 5.00 p.m. and it was started with ‘pujan’ of ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ by Shri. Pravin Nadapude; Shri. Ambadas Pophale, Shri. Balasaheb Shamraj and Shri. Suhas Salunke at Arya Chowk and concluded at Shri Bhavani Mahadwar. Different organizations and devout Hindus joined the procession.

Slogans were raised in the procession about celebrating New Year on Gudhi Padava instead of 1st January. ‘Puja’ of ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ carried in the procession was also performed at Dashavatar Mutt and Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir. 60 devout Hindus participated in the procession that was concluded with guidance of Sou. Rajashree Tiwari of HJS and Shri. Girish Loharikar. Sou. Tiwari made an appeal to women to join the movement being started for protection of religious traditions. A signature drive was also undertaken at the venue for the demand of allowing Hindus to perform ‘puja’ of Shriram at ‘Rama-janma-bhoomi’ in Ayodhya, on the day of Shriram Navami.
