Government to implement severely the law banning cow-slaughter ! – H.H. Rajudas Maharaj Ramdasi
Satara : Cow has been given the status of a mother in Hindu religion. Cow is worshipped by Hindus as society prospers due to her. Hence in order to protect a cow from getting slaughtered every Hindu should be prepared to sacrifice his life. Fadanvis Government has passed the law banning cow-slaughter which is praiseworthy; but cow-slaughter and cow-smuggling still continues. Therefore H. H. Rajudas Maharaj Ramdasi has invited the Government to implement the law banning cow-slaughter very strictly.
He was speaking in the Hindu agitation held with the leadership of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in the Tahsil Office at Vaduj, in S.T. stand area. Shri. Vijay Kale, Shri. Ashok Gadve, Shri. Satish Shet, Shri. Deepak Tupe, more than 25 workers of Sanatan Sanstha and HJS and devout Hindus were present there. H.H. Rajudas Maharaj Ramdasi said further,
- Many incidents are being cited of the smuggling of beef that is going on in many places in the State along with Mumbai, Nasik, Pune, Dhule, Miraj.
- As there no provision of severe punishments in the present law, the accused are given a bail within a day. In some places due to financial relation between the police and cow-smugglers, the law is not being enforced strictly upon cow-smugglers.
- Cow-smugglers do not seem to be scared of the law as they dare to attack severely the cow-protectors and police.
- Finally a demand was made stating that, the Government should make the fine and punishment fixed for cow-slaughter more severe and the cow-protectors risking their life in stopping the cow-slaughter should be given some rights for assisting the law. They also should be provided security.
Shri. Hanamant Kadam and Shri. Hemant Sonavne of HJS also expressed their intent. Cow-protector, Shri. Deepak Tupe spoke on the occasion. After the agitation the delegation of the workers met the resident Nayab Tahsildar Mrs. Nimbalkar and gave her the representation stating the demands mentioned above.
