Miscreants once again hurl sodawater bottles at Sanatan’s ashram in Ramnathi !

Ramnathi, Goa: On 3rd December at 10.30 p.m., three miscreants came on a two-wheeler and threw sodawater bottles at Sanatan’s ashram in Ramnathi, Goa. Within the span of 10 minutes, they hurled the bottles twice. First 3 miscreants, who hurled the bottles, came on a ‘Vespa’ scooter and at 10.40 p.m.again 3 miscreants came on a motorcycle and threw one bottle. These bottles fell near the main gate of the ashram and broke.

On earlier occasion, on 27th November, few unknown persons had come to the ashram at 1.00 a.m. in the night and had hurled a bottle at a seeker standing inside the ashram. This is the second time that such incident of bottles being hurled at the ashram has taken place. The ashram management immediately contacted the Ponda police station over phone. The police informed over the phone that they would send few policemen but nobody was sent. After 10 minutes therefore, the police were again contacted when they asked the management to give a complaint in writing.

A complaint was, therefore, given in writing on behalf of the ashram management at 11.30 p.m. In the complaint lodged by the ashram, the registration numbers of the two-wheelers have also been given. When the ashram management requested the police to come to the ashram in view of the situation, the request was turned down by the police giving the reason of insufficient manpower. On the same night, the police took a round in their vehicle at 12.30 in the night from Ramnathi Devasthan loudly blowing siren.  The police, however, did not go to the ashram for ‘panchanama’ as such the pieces of glass scattered everywhere outside the ashram had to be cleaned so that the residents and visitors did not get hurt. The ashram management is worried that what kind of proof would they be able to give for attack on the ashram with bottles if asked for by the police.
