Mumbai: A representation was submitted on behalf of Hindu Janajgruti Samiti (HJS) with the District Collector, Mumbai Suburb demanding filing of charge against ‘Jamat-e-Ulema Hind’ for treason as it has refused to say ‘Vande Mataram’. It has also been demanded that singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ should be made compulsory in all schools and such anti-national tendencies should be curbed in time. The representation was received by Mr. Manoj Guhad, the Dy. District Collector in the absence of Mr. Vishwas Patil, the District Collector for Mumbai Suburbs.
The representation was also submitted to Dy. Police Commissioner for Zone 9, Mr. K. N. Prasanna. Mr. Mahesh Pedanekar and Mr. Bharat Kadukar of HJS and Mrs. Neeta Chavan of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion. The representation was submitted to the Tehsildar of Thane on behalf of ‘Ranaragini’ branch of HJS which will be forwarded to the Honorable Presiednt of India through Mr. V. M. Dakhore, Tehsildar. Mrs. Manisha Kshirsagar of ‘Ranaragini’, Mrs. Vijaya Ghadi of Shiv Sena and other devout Hindu women were present on the occasion.
It has been further mentioned in the representation that earlier singing of only two verses of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ was allowed acceding to the demand of those who have now taken objection to even saying the word ‘Vande Mataram’. Tomorrow, they may claim that their feelings get hurt even when Hindus say ‘Vande Mataram’.
