Thane (Maharashtra): Recently Mr. Ajay Sambhus of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) received a phone call. The person calling him expressed his wish to meet Mr. Sambhus. On meeting, the person informed him that he was from Intelligence Bureau. The conversation that took place between them is given below.
(The first conversation that took place over the phone -)
Mr. Sambhus : What is the nature of your work?
The Person : You come to Thane then we can talk.
Mr. Sambhus : I am not likely to come to Thane in near future.
P: Then I’ll come to Dombivali; I want to know about the activities of your Samiti.
Mr. Sambhus : Ok, you meet me at ‘Char Rastaa’
( That persom met Mr. Sambhus and the following discussion took place.)
The Person : My name is Ranga Rao. I have come from the Intelligence Bureau. The bomb blast at Mudgaon was carried out by you, what was your real purpose?
Mr. Sambhus : I work for Hindu Janajagruti Samiti which is a different organisation. I am not aware of anything related to this issue. Do you have your Identity Card ?
The Person : No.
Mr. Sambhus : Then give me your visiting card
The Person : No, I don’t have even that. What is the connection between Sanatan Sanstha and you? Whom do you meet?
Mr. Sambhus : I know Mr. Vivek Naphade of Sanatan Sanstha
The Person : Who is the chief of Sanatan Sanstha for Thane or Dombivali?
Mr. Sambhus : I have no idea; but why are you asking all these questions?
The Person : I meet even members of VHP and Bajarang Dal. They do not undertake any activities involving arms. Those people try to make you understand but you publish matter against them. What are your future plans?
Mr. Sambhus : Presently, we are organising ‘Dharma-jagruti Sabhas’ and planning to have one sabha at Kalyan on 13th December.
The Person : If I go amd meet Naphade, I hope he does not beat me up.
Mr. Sambhus : I will tell you from what I have read in papers that police had visisted ashrams a number of times and they were given full cooperation. It was published that the police had gone to the ashram even at 2.00 a.m. in the night even then they were extended full cooperation.
The Person : Once someone’s name goes in the police list then they go after that person. What is the purpose of holding the ‘sabha’ on 13th December?
Mr. Sambhus : To impart ‘Dharma-shikshan’ to Hindus, to generate respect among them towards their Dharma and to create awareness about issues like terrorism, naxalism, conversions etc.
The Person : There must be something against taking over management of temples by the Government?
Mr. Sambhus : That topic is old now.
The Person : Do you know anyone of Sanatan Sanstha?
Mr. Sambhus : I have seen Mr. Abhay Vartak on TV who is a spokesperson of the Sanstha.
The Person : Where can I meet him?
Mr. Sambhus : I don’t know his whereabouts. I had read in the newspapers about his taking a press conference in Delhi a few days back.
(The next day, Mr. Sambhus got a call from that person.)
The Person : Did you get Naphade’s contact number?
Mr. Sambhus : Yesterday, you did not show your I-card. How can I be sure that you are from the Intelligence Bureau?
The Person : We have our office at K Villa, near K Villa Association, Sanjivani Hospital. You are coming to Thane today is it not? Then do come to our office.
Mr. Sambhus : Presently, I won’t be coming to Thane
The Person : I do not generally carry my I-card when I go out.
Mr. Sambhus : Nowadays, there have so many cases of cheating.
The Person : But looking at me, do you feel that I am one of them? Do come to the office.
( Then he disconnected the phone.)
