Inculcating ‘sanskars’ amongst children since early age about protection of nation and Dharma like Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is the need of the hour ! – Sumit Sagavekar, HJS
Navi Mumbai : Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was taught at very young age about ‘Swarajya’ and protection of Dharma. Similarly, we should also teach our children importance of protection of nation and Dharma at early age; else future will be very difficult, stated Shri. Sumit Sagavekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a program held at ‘Krushi Utpanna Bazar Samiti (APMC)’ complex by ‘Dharmaveer Sambhaji Raje Utsav Mandal’ from APMC’s Dharmaveer Sambhaji Raje Bazar Complex to celebrate 359th birth anniversary of Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj.
Mayor Shri. Sudhakar Sonawane was the chief guest of the program and other dignitaries attending the program were ‘Kreeda Sabhapati’ Prakash More, Sopan Meher, President ‘Navi Mumbai Bhajipala Vyapari Welfare Association’, Shri. Ganesh Mhangare, President ‘Raje Shivaji Utsav Mandal’, Shri. Shankar Pingale, former Director of APMC, Shri. Ramdas Pavale, Shiv Sena municipal councilor, Shri. Kailas Tajane etc. Mayor felicitated Shri. Suryakant Zende, President of ‘Dharmaveer Sambhaji Raje Utsav mandal’, its secretary Shri. Bhausaheb Bhor, Shri. Ganesh Pavage and Shri. Vasant Sanas for their efforts, in organizing the program successfully. Mayor extended wishes on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj in his address.
Hoisting of ‘Gudhi’ and slaying of Sambhaji Maharaj has no relation with each other !
Shri. Sumit Sagavekar of HJS explained how people are misled through messages circulated on ‘Whats AP’ regarding slaying of Sambhaji Maharaj and celebration of Gudhi Padava and what actually was the real position. He said, “Gudhi is hoisted to celebrate New Year of Hindus. Do not tolerate the wrong propagation that hoisting of ‘Gudhi’ was done for celebration of Sambhaji Maharaj’s slaying. Prabhu Shriramchandra returned to Ayodhya after winning war at Lanka, people of Ayodhya hoisted ‘Gudhis’ to celebrate his return and victory. This is the tradition of hoisting Gudhi; but associating it with slaying of Sambhaji Maharaj is the effect of ‘Brigade-ideology’ and they should be given an apt answer.”
Shri. Sagavekar said further, “Aurangzeb tortured Sambhaji Maharaj, trying to force him to adopt Islam but he didn’t give up Hindu Dharma till his last breath. We should learn from it and be loyal to Dharma and impose timely curb over anti-Hindus. As Sambhaji Maharaj showed supremacy of Hindu Dharma through abiding by Dharma, we should also follow Dharmacharan which will generate Dharmabhiman in us. Everyone can at least begin by applying ‘Tila’ before leaving house; answering phone calls with ‘Jai Shivaraya or Jai Shriram’ instead of saying ‘hello’ and hoisting saffron flag over their house or shop.
Call it ‘Dharmaveer Sambhaji Raje Sankul’ instead of APMC market !
There are still cities, roads and chowks in this country with the names of persons who brutally tortured Sambhaji Maharaj. There is need to force the Government to change such names. APMC market’s name has been changed to ‘Dharmaveer Sambhajiraje Bazar Sankul’ but people still refer to it as APMC. Everybody should now call it as ‘Dharmaveer Sambhajiraje Bazar Sankul’ only; which will help to awaken ‘Dharmabhiman’ in us.” Maharaj fought for winning various forts but didn’t name anyone after him. Young men and women visit these forts as picnic spots and write own names on walls etc. which is most shameful. It is the duty of all citizens to preserve forts and people indulging in such wrong things, need to be taught a lesson, then and there.”
