Shimoga (Karnataka): With the aim of stopping attacks on Hindu Dharma and impart education on Righteousness to Hindus, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had conducted massive Dharmajagruti Sabha at Shimoga on 12 December 2009 which was responded with thousands of devout Hindus. In order to give future guidance to devout Hindus and plan strategy for further activities in future, HJS held a meeting at Shimoga recently at Sree Basaveswar Temple.

This meeting was attended by Mr. Mohan Gowda, Spokesperson of HJS for Karnataka State and Mr. Venkatraman Naik, District coordinator of Shimoga and Mrs. Leela Sridhar of ‘Ranaragini’. Nearly 100 active devout Hindus participated in the meeting.
Mr. Venkatraman Naik briefed about output of Dharmasabha and aim of the meeting. Mr. Mohan Gowda said, “Hindus should unite together by keeping aside their caste and creed”. He further said that it is the need of hour to do thinking and discuss on the present state of Hindus and find a solution on it. He said that pride over righteousness (Dharma) will be developed in Hindus, only by growing the seeds of Dharmajagruti (Righteousness) in the minds of Hindus, And thereby creating true unity among Hindus. So it is our duty to create maximum Awareness on Dharma amongst all. He then explained how HJS is going to do create awareness on Dharma through various media like with, Flex banners & Dharmasatsangs etc
Talking on one of the National issue, he said that on 19 December 2009, HJS is going to hold a national level protest against the visit of Banladesh PM to India. He strongly condemned Indian govt for taking decision of conferring the Prestigious Indira Gandhi International award for peace to the Prime Minister of our enemy country, who did nothing for calling back millions of Bangladeshi infiltrators from India and who also caused severe damage to the Hindus in Bangladesh. He said that HJS is going to hold protest at office of the Deputy commissioner of Shimoga and hand over memorandum to Hon. PM of India over this issue, which will be attended by many HJS activists and various devout Hindus.
Answering to the question of a devout Hindu, Mr. Gowda said that, In spite of 98% people were in favor of making Vande Mataram as our national anthem as per survey conducted by National Anthem Selection Committee, The PM Mr. Nehru and his colleagues committed unforgivable mistake by selecting Jana Gana Mana which praised British leaders as our National anthem. He said that Vande Mataram creates Motherly love and emotion among the citizens and thereby creating true national pride. He said that in the coming days, HJS is going to conduct a state level signature campaign for singing Vande Mataram compulsory at primary schools. It was decided in the meeting to conduct a Rally at Shimoga to create awareness about Vande Mataram among people.
In the later part of meeting, Question and answer session was held which was actively participated by all devout Hindus ,especially women took active participation. Many devout Hindus got their doubts clarified on the occasion.
Highlights
1. Twenty Three Dharmabimani became active members of HJS on the occasion.
2. One school teacher present for meeting, accepted to do create awareness by purchasing flex banners by her own.
3. All devout Hindus present decided to give compulsory one day per week and go to villages and do Dharmaprasar.
4. All Dharmabimani present decided to meet compulsory for one hour in a week and do meeting at Sree Seetaram Kalyan mantap Shimoga
5. Ten devout Hindus accepted to write Dharmaphalak (Writing matter related to Dharma and related issues on Blackboard)
6. One devout Hindus present for the meeting told HJS activists to arrange Dharmashikshan varga at every ward of Shimoga and he will bear all responsibility.
9. Twenty Five devout Hindus said that they will participate in Self-defense training to be held at Shimoga.
10. It was decided by all, To conduct massive awareness campain for Vande Mataram at Shimoga.
