Basni (Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra): Why should Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) need to organize ‘Dharma-sabhas’ in the first place ? Today, our young generation has no knowledge of Hindu culture. There is a need to take initiative like HJS and unite Hindus. We only keep on complaining about followers of other religions but the extremism, which is found in them, is not present in Hindus. The schools should impart training on matters related to Dharma. The Government has, however, declared this as a secular Nation so that it does not have to do anything for Hindus. The above statement was made by Mr. Vijay Behere, the vice president of BJP for Ratnagiri taluka in his address in ‘Dharma-jagruti Sabha’. HJS had organized a Hindu Dharma-jagruti Sabha at Sree Mahakashmi Temple in Basni, taluka Ratnagiri. The meeting was also addressed by Mr. Suresh Shinde of HJS and Mrs. Pallavi Lanjekar of ‘Ranaragini’ besides, HBP. Sudhakar Vishnu Paranjape. About 300 devout Hindus attended the ‘sabha’ that started with recitation of ‘Veda-mantras’ by Mr. Nitin Abhyankar and Prahlad Abhyankar, the ‘Purohits’.
Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi fought with ‘Kshatra vrutti’ and followed ‘Dharmacharan’. She preferred to sacrifice her body in the fire rather than it being desecrated. From where did she get such courage? In the present times, however, Hindu women are losing their respect. When one follows ‘Dharmacharan’ the un-manifest (Nirgun) principle of Goddess Durga gets awakened, therefore, women must follow ‘Dharmacharan’, said Mrs. Pallavi Lanjekar of ‘Ranaragini’.
Hindu Dhrama is under attack through various mediums. Hindus are cornered by ‘jihadi’ Muslims, Christians, communists, anti-Hindu organizations from all side. They have to see oppression of their brethren and damage caused to Dharma in their own country. The majority of Hindus in this country seems to be going down. Thus if the existence of Hindus keeps on going down, Hindus will become minority, said Mr. Suresh Shinde while describing present condition of Hindus.

Mrs. Alpana Pedanekar, member of Zilha Parishad – Women should get training in karate, sword etc. and be ready to defend themselves. We have to follow Hindu culture and achieve progress.
