Yalgud (Dist. Kolhapur, Maharashtra): The present Government is trying to glorify Afzal Khan and cut off the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Hindus unitedly want to advise the Government, that is trying to impose an undeclared ban on the display of picture depicting slaying of Afzal Khan, that it would get inspiration from this picture to eliminate terrorism. In fact, this picture should be displayed in every police station and Government office. If the Government follows the policy advocated by Shivaraya, it would be able to take steps to eliminate terrorism in true sense. The above guidance was given by Mr. Omkar Shukla, the city-president of BJP for Miraj in his address in the Dharmajagruti Sabha organized by HJS on the grounds of Sree Maruti Temple at Yalgud.

The ‘sabha’ began with recitation of ‘Veda-mantras’ by Mr. Shridhar Kalhalli, a priest from Jagatguru Shankaracharya Peeth, Karveer followed with lighting of lamp by Mr. Omkar Shukla. The ‘Sabha’ was also addressed by Mrs. Sunita More, a leader of the women’s front of Shiv Sena, Sangli District, Mrs. Gauri Khilare of ‘Ranaragini’ and Mr. Rahul Kadam of HJS. More than 1000 devout Hindus attended the meeting experiencing awakening of ‘Dharmatej’. The program was compeered by Mrs. Rajani Shinde and Mr. Samrat Patil.

What did the police achieve by being partial ? – Mrs. Sunita More

Mrs. Sunita More of Shiv Sena said that the police were bowing before Muslims when the picture depicting slaying of Afzal Khan was displayed but beating up Hindus. What have they achieved by being so partial? The ploy of stopping the immersion procession of Sree Ganesha idols was foiled by Hindu women and they taught such people a lesson. Today, women living in Miraj are getting awakened and are following the footsteps of ‘Ranaragini’. The failure of the Congress Government in all the fields and its betrayal of the Hindus have made it imperative for Hindus to learn to protect themselves.

Highlights

1. At the end of the ‘sabha’, various resolves were made e.g. ‘We will apply ‘tilak’ on forehead’, ‘We will greet each other with ‘namaskar’ instead of ‘hello’, ‘boycott celebration of ‘Days’ blindly following the western culture’,  etc.

2. The members of local Hindu organizations and Sree Shiva-pratishthan extended cooperation in organization of the meeting.

3. The local youth provided material for electricity, sound system, pandal, advertising etc. free of charge.
