Mapusa : A delegation of ‘Ranaragini’, a wing promoted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) made a demand with the Deputy Collector of Mapusa, Shri. Harish Hadkonkar on 24th May to remove the vulgar advertisements on Mapusa – Panaji highway, at the shop near Mapusa market entrance gate etc. A memorandum too has been given to him in this regards. Delegation of Ranaragini comprised of Sau. Priti Parsekar, Sau. Neha Govekar, Sau. Deepali Zarapkar, Sau. Vandana Naik, Smt. Kalpana Gadekar, Sau. Sanjana Parsekar, Sau. Prashila Goltekar, Smt. Suhasini Patil, Sau. Shubha Sawant and Sau. Sarvani Agarwadekar of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Dinesh Halanrkar, Sau. Naina Halanrkar and Sau. Vishaka Mambre of HJS.
It is stated in the memorandum that, in order to popularise their products currently advertising posters having vulgar pictures by the side of busy roads appear to be on the rise. There is attempt to turn our pious land into the land of enjoyment (Bhogbhumi), thereby polluting the entire atmosphere.Sentiments of women are hurt due to them. Earlier, after the statewide agitation by Ranaragini against vulgar posters Government has taken action against it. Ranaragini has warned of staging agitation if this vulgar posters are not removed. Later Ranaragini delegation also meet Chairperson of Mapusa Muncipal Council Shri. Sandeep Falari and demanded to him to remove vulgar hoardings in the muncipal area. Chairperson Shri. Falari assured the delegation to take necessary action.
