Pune : 5 persons carrying beef in milk-van nabbed due to alertness of ‘Gou-rakshaks’

  • Why police cannot notice what ‘Gou-rakshaks’ can ? Or are they taking bribes and turning blind eye towards such crimes ?
  • After slaughter of how many cattle, is the Act banning cow-slaughter going to be effectively implemented ?

Pune : A tempo carrying beef after slaughtering cattle in a farm near Nagar was caught by ‘Gou-rakshaks’ at Kharadi bypass. (Congratulations to ‘Gou-rakshaks’ for helping to nab beef transporters ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) It was brought to light due to alertness shown by ‘Gou-rakshaks’. Vehicle transporting milk was used to mislead police. A case has been filed at airport police station and 5 persons have been taken into custody.

1. There was a car behind tempo carrying beef. To mislead police, a saffron flag and advertisement of Amul Milk was displayed on this vehicle; but ‘Gou-rakshaks’ had doubt about the movements of this vehicle and ‘Gou-rakshak’ Swami chased the vehicle from Koregaon Bheema (Nagar) to Kharadi bypass on his two-wheeler.

2. Swami halted the tempo but the driver ran away. After this, the car following tempo was stopped by local citizens and police were informed.

3. Police have confiscated both the vehicles. The meat was checked by Animal Husbandry Department and it was found to be beef of 16 cows. Beef was handed over to the Government for disposal as per Court’s orders.
