Indian cow will save human from global warming : Inference by Researchers

Cow should be saved for protecting people from global warming ! Hindus expect the Central Government to save cow from thousands of slaughter-houses in this country !

cow-gomata320Under its many research works and projects undertaken under National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) in last 5 years by National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal (Punjab), it has been proved that Indian cow can protect human from global warming. Its deductions are as given below.

1. It has been observed that Indian cows have more capacity to tolerate high temperatures as compared to foreign and hybrid lactating cows and effect of changes in water and air is also less over them.

2. Owing to the type of skin they have, Indian cows are able to tolerate heat in better way.

3. NICRA scientists say that maximum and minimum temperatures have effect on milking capacity of cows.

4. The studies have shown that there is 30% reduction in milk production if temperature rises above 40 degrees in summer and falls below 20 degrees in winter.

5. Higher temperature can reduce milk production by 15 – 20% of a hybrid cow; but it has no effect on Indian cow.

6. If increase in temperature remains for long period, it affects even reproduction capacity of cows-buffaloes, besides reduction in milk production.

7. Dr. A. K. Shrivastav of NDRI said that out of total milk production in this country, 51% is obtained from buffaloes, 20% from Indian cows and 25% from foreign/ hybrid cows. Increase in temperature can worsen the situation and keeping Indian cows is the only solution to this problem. Sahiwal breed in cows and Murra breed in buffaloes can be maintained in any part of the country.

8. The Chief scientist of Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly said that increase in temperature adversely affects hybrid cows and they can fall sick. It also adversely affects their consumption of fodder and they become weak; affecting milk production but Indian cows do not fall sick so soon.

9. There are 39 types of species of cows and 12 species of buffaloes in the country. An Indian cow of Gir species gave 62 litres of milk in Brazil.

10. Global warming can adversely affect milk production, says National dairy Development Board.

11. Scientists have warned that by the year 2020, change in water and air can cause reduction of more than 30 lakh tons in milk production.

12. Total milk production in 2015-16 was 160 million tons.

13.There are 250 lactating cows-buffaloes at IVRI giving about 2700 litres of milk; but increase in temperatures led to getting only 2200 litres milk during those days.
