Hindu professor found dead in Bangladesh

Bangladesh : We have been reporting on numerous crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh and this report is a continuation of the series of such crimes.

On Sunday night from his home town of Magura, Bangladesh, the body of Ramendra Nath Kundu (55) was recovered. He had been working since the eighties as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Aminur Rahman College in Mohammadpur, sub-district, Bangladesh. He lived with his second wife, Anita Das in a rented house.

According to the Police, Ramendra Nath Kundu had lost his first wife two years ago. Five months ago, he married a woman named Anita Das. Anita works as a temporary computer operator in the district Public Health Engineering office. Anita came home from town at 8 pm at night. When she entered the bedroom, she saw that the body of Ramendra Nath Kundu hanging in the room. She called the police, who later recovered the body.

Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Senior Superintendent of Police (ASP), Magura, said the incident is under investigation.

Rabindra Ghosh of Bangladesh Minority Watch (BMW) says that they are investigating the death of Shree Ramendra Nath Kundu. Bangladesh Minority Watch suspects that there is foul play and that this is a Murder. Considering the frequency and circumstances of the crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh, especially by Muslims, each incident has to be treated with great concern. Therefore, Bangladesh Minority Watch is very concerned at the murder of this minority professor and demands that the perpetrators be arrested soon and those guilty should be brought to book as per law of the country.

This incident follows a string of numerous such incidents. On 7th, June, 2016, (BBC report), a Hindu Temple priest Ananda Gopal Ganguly, 70, was found in a field near his temple in western Jhenaidah district. His head had been nearly severed from his neck. He was hacked to death for which ISIS claimed responsibility.On 10th, June, 2016, (IndiaTimes report) 60-year-old Nityaranjan Pandey of Thakur Anukul Chandra Satsanga Paramtirtha Hemayetpurdham ashram was attacked by several assailants who hacked him in the neck, said ASP (Sadar Circle) Selim Khan. Pandey, who was working at the ashram as a volunteer for the past 40 years, was attacked near the ashram in Pabna’s Hemayetpur Upazila during his regular morning walk, Khan was quoted as saying by bdnews.

This spate of killings of Hindus in Bangladesh is a Human Rights Violation and a cause for grave concern.

  1. What is PM Modi doing to assist the Hindus from being killed in Bangladesh and Pakistan. If they were Americans President Obama would have taken immediate action against theme.
