Arrest Zakir Naik immediately and take action against those showing ‘Peace TV’ : HJS

Mumbai : Cases have been filed against Dr. Zakir Naik, founder of ‘Islamic Research Foundation’ for his controversial statements against Hindus’ Deities and seats of worship in other religions; so also against Prophet Mohammad. England, Malaysia and Canada have imposed ban on his entry, for his encouraging terrorist activities and promoting Osama Bin Laden. Now, it has been brought forth that terrorists killing innocent citizens in Dhaka, Bangladesh were influenced by Dr. Naik. It is a very serious matter and considering Dr. Naik’s controversial background, he should be arrested immediately. Detailed inquiry should be conducted into his financial sources. The above demand has been made by Shri. Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a press release. It was stated in the press conference that

1. Dr. Zakir Naik has been denigrating Hindu Dharma, Deities and Hindus’ Holy Scriptures etc. through rallies held by him and through TV channels; besides internet.

2. The then Congress Government had imposed ban on Dr. Zakir Naik’s ‘Peace’ TV channel in India as he had telecast matters which were dangerous from the viewpoint of India’s security. Still in many places in India where Muslims are in majority, transmission of ‘Peace’ TV channel is openly shown.

3. Similar telecast was going on even at Solapur in Maharashtra when HJS lodged a complaint. The State Government should take prompt action against the cable operator showing banned ‘Peace’ TV channel.

4. It is very dangerous for India since it has been exposed that Muslim youth involved in terrorist activities in Bangladesh were encouraged by Dr. Zakir Naik. Many Muslim youth, men and women from India, have already shown interest in joining ISIS and Dr. Zakir Naik might be supporting them; therefore, Dr. Naik and his organization need to be thoroughly investigated and  severe action should be taken against Dr. Naik.
