The Goa Government has included a lesson of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in NCERT’s curriculum; will the Maharashtra Government learn a lesson from them ? – HJS
Kolhapur (Maharashtra): The Goa Government had to include a separate lesson, comprising of 5 pages, on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the text book of 7th standard, formulated by NCERT, due to the intense agitations carried out by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The Maharashtra Government has, however, not made any changes in the curriculum. In the old central curriculum, the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been given in 6 lines whereas that of the Mughal invaders has been given in 60 pages. This is an insult to all Hindus and followers of Shivaji Maharaj. If the Maharashtra Government does not take immediate action, HJS will once again start agitations. The above warning was given by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Mr. Ramesh Shinde was speaking in a press conference held here. Mr. Shinde also explained about how the money donated by Hindus is utilized for helping followers of other religions and about the incidents of idol damaging in Goa. HJS has organized ‘Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha’ to create awareness among people regarding the attacks on Dharma. The ‘sabha’ will be held on 3rd February 2010 at 5.30 p.m. on Dudhali Ground near Rankala Bus Depot. An appeal was made on behalf of HJS to all Hindus to attend the said ‘Sabha’. H. B. P. Mahadev Maharaj Yadav, Mr. Dilip Bhivate of Hindu Ekta Andolan, Mr. Sambhaji Salunkhe, the area-chief of Bajarang Dal and Mr. Madhukar Nazare of HJS were present on the occasion.
