Vijaywada : ‘Pushkar Parva’ is celebrated once in 12 years on the banks of River Krishna. It has started this year from 12th August and will go on till 23rd August. It is celebrated at various places on the banks of River Krishna. Having holy bath in River Krishna is considered to be a merit. This fair is being celebrated on the holy confluence of Rivers Krishna and Godavari at Vijaywada. Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) have put up a huge stall of books for exhibition and sale which is receiving good response from devotees.

Highlights

1. Seekers from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have participated in the ‘Pushkar Parva’.

2. Local citizens extended help in putting up banners about ‘Pushkar Parva’.

3. Owners of ‘Kamdhenu’ Silks published matter related to ‘Pushkar Parva’ on ten advertisements put up by them.

4. Bhagyanagar’s Excise Commissioner Dr. R. V. Chandravadan granted permission to put up the exhibition on a ground of Public Work’s Department without charging anything. He also showed lot of interest in knowing importance of ‘sattvika’ things and bought few books and products.

Anti-Hindu policy of Telugu Desam Government

1. Various spiritual organizations had sought permission from Andhra Pardesh Government about a month ago for place to put up exhibitions; but just one day before start of ‘Pushkar Parva’, the Government advised allocation of places on 10 feet area per unit with Rs. 10,000/- as rent and refused to extend any other facilities.

2. Telugu Desam Government, however, spent millions of rupees on making huge arrangements for entertainment of people during ‘Pushkar Parva’ for which the Government extracted donations in thousands of rupees from even spiritual organizations.
