Dhule:Hindu Rakshak Samiti (HRS) gave a representation to the police against the campaign of donation of Ganesh idols started by ANS (Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti – Committee for Eradication of Blind Faith). As a result, the campaign did not receive response from Ganesh devotees and was a total failure.
Members of ANS, however, with the help of students and professors of Rashtriya Seva Yojana (RSY) tried to appeal to the Ganesh-devotees for donation of Ganesh idols. The members of the HRS, therefore, intimidated ANS workers for not forcing devotees to donate the idols. Thereafter, all the devotees immersed the idols as per science.
Then workers of ANS went to another immersion site and used the same strategy but members of HRS reached there and asked ANS workers to leave. As the ANS workers did not pay heed to the advice, members of HRS explained to the student of RSY, the significance of immersion.
As a result, the students left from the site and ANS workers had no choice but to follow them. A board was displayed by the Municipality that Ganesh idols would be accepted at the immersion site. When HRS members asked for explanation from them, they rendered apology.
