When the whole world is condemning Mother Teresa’s Canonization, why PM Modi is praising her ? It’s a miracle on Modi
Haridwar (By Upananda Brahmachari) : Again, another reputed Christian journalist, broadcaster, equality and social justice campaigner, Carol Hunt says, Evidence shows that Mother Teresa took pleasure in the suffering of the poor.
It’s not the first, nor it is the fill stop before Sept 4th…, the antagonists are hyping against the controversial canonization of Mother Teresa as they feel honoring Teresa as a saint will be a travesty of truth and humiliation of humanity for which Teresa is now on dock.
In an impressive article in Irish ‘Independent’, Carol lauded against Teresa with many reference as the ‘Hell’s Angel’ or the ‘Saint of the gutter’ was a great offender to the humanity and the mischievous preacher of Christian faith.
Carol writes: Even worse now that the kindly old lady is deceased, and Pope Francis – perhaps the most popular pontiff in centuries – has signed off on the miracle needed to make her a saint. Daring to criticise such a beacon of human compassion would surely be unfair, unwise, inappropriate at best and quite possibly blasphemous under Irish law (the offence of speaking sacrilegiously of sacred things). But the answer to the question, “Is nothing sacred”, should always be an emphatic “no”. And the truth about Mother Teresa, and the work her Missionaries of Charity continue to do, should not be hidden behind a misty-eyed romanticism.
Evidence – and her own words – show that Mother Teresa was not so much a “champion of the poor” but a religious fanatic who took pleasure in their suffering. Not only did she refuse to alleviate the pain of her patients but she gloried in it. As she herself said: “I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people.”
Her famous ‘Home for the Dying’ in Calcutta was deliberately kept as barren, destitute and inadequate to the needs of her patients as possible. This, according to Teresa, was God’s will. Even though the donations from wealthy patrons were enough to fund a number of world-class clinics, her patients languished in Dickensian poverty. In 1994, Robin Fox, of the medical journal Lancet, shocked many by saying that her “TB patients were not isolated and syringes were washed in lukewarm water before being used again. Even patients in unbearable pain were refused painkillers, not because the order did not have them but on principle”. Fox was only one of many who have reported back about the true nature of Teresa’s ministry, only to be ignored.
Yet Teresa’s aim always was to promote a cult of suffering and subjugation of the poor. “You are suffering like Jesus on the cross”, she once told a patient. “So Jesus must be kissing you.” (The suffering patient screamed back: “Then tell your Jesus to stop kissing me.”) Notably, Teresa did not feel she had to include herself in this “suffering for Jesus”. Instead she eschewed her own clinic for the costliest care that California could offer when she needed it. She also befriended dictators and demagogues (the Duvaliers, the wife of Albanian tyrant Enver Hoxha, the corrupt Charles Keating and tycoon Robert Maxwell). Teresa had no problem with the rich appropriating the wealth of the earth, leaving millions starving. Otherwise how would the poor be able to offer up their pain in order to be saved?
When Teresa accepted her Nobel Peace Prize (do not be so ill-mannered as to ask what for) in 1979, she cited abortion as being the “worst evil and the greatest enemy of peace”. In Ireland, in 1993, she said: “Let us promise Our Lady that we will never allow in this country a single abortion.” There was loud applause. She continued: “And no contraceptives.” More applause. She didn’t like divorce either. But she did like cash. She collected millions worldwide. What did she do with it? She made it clear she wasn’t into social work. A sign on the Mother House says: “Tell them we are not here for work, we are here for Jesus. We are religious above all else. We are not social workers, not teachers, not doctors. We are nuns.”
Basically, Mother Teresa was running an organisation which soothed the souls and the consciences of the wealthy. We in the West felt guilty at our relative riches, we wanted to believe that one of us – a white, compassionate European woman – was doing something for those poor people in the third world. She is our saviour, not theirs. As Hitchens put it: “Mother Teresa was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty. . . She spent her life opposing the only known cure for poverty which is the empowerment of women and the emancipation of them from a livestock version of compulsory reproduction.”
But, all these have no meaning to PM Modi or the policy makers in Govt. of India. Modi thinks, “Mother Teresa devoted her whole life serving the poor and destitute people in India. When such a person is conferred with sainthood, it is natural for Indians to feel proud.” What a lie made by Modi in a speech with his limited knowledge about the champion Evangelist conspirator who dedicated her whole life for her Conversion Mission for Jesus.
On last Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address, paid tributes to the late Catholic nun for her services to the poor of India, saying that Indians should be proud that Mother Teresa is being officially declared a saint. For that he is sending Smt. Sushma Swaraj, the External Minister of India to Vatican to attend the Canonization ceremony there on 4th Sept.
On 19th August, I forwarded an appeal of some Hindu Citizens (thinks, writers, social activists etc.) for “Stop Sending GOI Representation at Mother Teresa’s Canonisation” to PM Modi (Acknowledgement: PMOPG/E/2016/0301245) for proper action. But, PMO has finally rejected that appeal yesterday (29 Aug) with an notification, “Status: Case Closed. Details: No specific grievance has been raised by the complainant. No appropriate reference, details have been given to look into”
Learned viewers may check the above hyperlink on our appeal to “Stop Sending GOI Representation at Mother Teresa’s Canonisation” and feel a flash of the ‘good governance’ inside PM’s Office.
Actually, What happened to Modi on Mother is beyond explanation. It may be presented as another miracle of Mother! See, how a ex-RSS Pracharak is praising Teresa, the cause of “thousand forced conversion” in India. A Hindutva poster boy Modi is shamelessly propagating the plunderous policy for an evangelic posterity in India. If it’s not a Mother’s miracle on Modi, what’s that?
Practically, Modi can’t see anything against Mother Teresa. PM Modi is now in a trance of Mother. It is difficult to asses whether Modi is now thinking Mother Teresa is greater than his Mother Heeraben or even greater than Bharat Mata. Miracle can change a man beyond any proximity!
For this mysterious miracle of Mother on Modi, the later can’t hear or understand these 10 points as recited by Listland.
- Mother Teresa’s Home for the Dying provides abysmal medical care.
- Mother Teresa’s goal was missionary work not helping the poor.
- Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity baptized the dying without their permission.
- Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity Organization has shady finances
- Mother Teresa took money from known fraudsters and refused to refund it – even when this refusal caused real harm to innocent people.
- As well as consorting with fraudsters Mother Teresa was friends with the leaders of some of the most reprehensible political regimes in the world.
- Mother Teresa had a hard line stance on abortion, contraception and divorce, except where her Friends were concerned.
- Mother Teresa was rarely in Calcutta preferring to fly around the world to promote her opinions.
- Mother Teresa liked to be seen to help but provided very little actual help.
- There have been no miracles attributed to Mother Teresa.
But, the miracle goes good on Modi and he will see the whole “canonization prog’ through hot channel from his Delhi residence or during his tour as it may be.
Now, from a celestial source it is learnt that PM Modi is now contemplating to ban two books at least in India. 1. “Mother Teresa: The Final Verdict” by Dr. Aroup Chatterjee and 2. “The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice” by Christopher Hitchens. Actually, Hitchens thinks: Pope Francis will make Mother Teresa—a fanatic, a fundamentalist, and a fraud—a saint.
So what! India is now moving with Modi wind. Modi tells Teresa a saint, coreres of Modi Bhakts believe that from that point of time, MT becomes saint. Who are these bogus Aroup, Upananda or Hitchens? All may go to hell except Modi and Modi Bhakts.
Ultimately, I am really afraid of PM Modi’s next move in this row. Whether he is going to declare all the crusaders for conversions in India are also saintly personalities like Mother Teresa and the soul harvesters’ mission for conversion is really good for us. God knows.
But, one thing is very clear. Everybody talks about Modi magic, now we are seeing a new magic…. i.e. Mother’s miracle on Modi.
Hallelujah !
