Bhor (Dist. Pune) : The purpose for which Lokmanya Tilak started collective celebration of Ganesh festival has been forgotten now and this festival is celebrated totally in materialistic way, only for enjoyment. Programs, which will create awareness amongst people towards nation and Dharma, should be organized in present times, advised Shri. Vishwajit Chavan of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) during a lecture held at Mayuresh Cooperative Housing Society on 3rd September. Shri. Chavan also explained importance and science behind performing ‘Ganesh-puja’, why Ganesh idols should be immersed in flowing water, why donation of idols is not proper, ideal manner of celebrating Ganeshotsav etc. Shri. Yuvaraj Magar, Shri. Manoj Nazirkar and about 20 women attended the program. Those, attending the lecture, showed interest in starting Dharmashikshan classes.
