Boats were provided at Ravet ghat where the devotees immersed Ganesh idols in the river. (HJS extends gratitude to Shri. Dada Korhale for arranging boats thereby facilitating idol immersion as per sciptures !) There was negligible response to the artificial tanks. The Municipal Corporation employees were busy with their mobiles instead of paying attention to the needs of devotees.

Mr. Kunal Khangte, Vice-President of Pune city Youth Congress, installs Shri Ganesh idol made of clay, which is later immersed in flowing water. He said that ‘When the idols are immersed in artificial tanks, they are later lifted out by earthmovers, which denigrates Shri Ganesh. To avoid this, they immerse the idols in flowing water’.

5. Devotees expressed their displeasure against administration by immersing idols in flowing water at Chinchvad !

Here the inclination of devotees was to immerse Ganesh idols in flowing water. Devotees were displeased with the administration since river bed near Birla Hospital was dry and instead of water there was garbage in the artificial tanks erected by the Corporation, which resulted in devotees leaving the place keeping the idols there.

At the Ghat near Moraya Gosavi temple arrangement of private boats was made for the devotees. The devotees expressed their pleasure by opting to immerse the idols in flowing water.
