Nandurbar : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted a representation to the District Collector demanding that house of martyr Shirishkumar should be declared as national monument.
It has been stated in the representation that Shirishkumar Mehta, Shashidhar Ketkar, Laldas Shah, Dhansukhlal Vani and Ghanashyamdas Shah were the youngest revolutionaries who became martyrs. This year will be celebrated as 75th year of their sacrifice and on this occasion, house of martyr Shirishkumar on Tilak Road be declared as national monument to revive memories of these youngest revolutionaries.
Other demands made in the representation
1. Their photographs and documentary on them should be available at this place.
2. Bust-statues of all the 5 martyrs should be erected there.
3. Martyr week should be celebrated from 9th to 15th September.
The above representation was submitted by Dr. Narendra Patil of HJS, Shekhar Marathe, President of ‘Jai Bajarang Vyayamshala’, Narendra Tamboli of ‘Hindustan Shivapratishthan’ besides, Dr. Natavadkar, Bhavana Kadam, Sou. Bharati Pundit, Sou. Chhayatai Sonar, Sou. Rajani Avhad and Akash Gavit. The representation was accepted by Tehsildar Pramod Shele on behalf of the District Collector.
