Ideal Ganesh Festival Campaign of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha
Kolhapur: Under the joint auspices of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha, an Ideal Ganesh Festival Campaign was undertaken at Panchganga Ghat, where an appeal to devotees was made on loud-speaker to immerse Shri Ganesh idols, as per scriptures, in flowing water of the river. The appeal received spontaneous response and many devotees immersed their idols in the flowing water. The Municipality erected a huge pandal from where they appealed on loud-speaker to the devotees to donate the idols and celebrate pro-environmental Ganesh festival, which was ignored and gave importance to immersion as per scriptures.
