Belgaum (Karnataka): Belgaum Municipal Corporation (BMC) prepared mobile artificial tanks and took them around in different parts of the city to collect Shri Ganesh idols from devotees which is grave denigration of the Deity. (Devout Hindus should take BMC to task for such anti-Dharma act and try to prevent it from happening on Anant Chaturdashi ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
BMC undertook such anti-Dharma drive for collecting idols in mobile tanks from people staying in far off places and suburbs. Such idols are immersed in Rakaskop, Kangrali and Hidkal water reservoir. (Then where is the need to spend so much money on artificial tanks ? Is it for appeasement of some people or is it for filling up someone’s coffers ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Mayor Sarita Patil promised volunteers of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that care would be taken to prevent desecration of idols collected from devotees and to bring to her notice if such incidents of desecration were observed at some places. (Money is already spent on making artificial tanks and collection of idols is denigration; then what else is left now ? Immersion of idols in artificial tanks is a grave denigration and it seems to be taking place everywhere; then on what basis the Mayor is giving such promise ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Mayor said further, “Such thing will be avoided next year; because the State Government has now made a rule for making idols of only with clay.” (Idol made of Plaster of Paris does not cause water pollution; even then municipal corporation misleads devotees and collects idols by force; denigrating them through such immersions. It can therefore, be observed that pollution is secondary issue but the main issue is to act against Dharmashastra. What is the guarantee that ban would not be imposed even on immersion of idols made with clay ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Dy. Mayor Sanjay Shinde, Shriram Sena’s Ramakant Konduskar, Shri. Pandurang Dhotre, Shri. Bapu Pawar, Shri. Anil Kuranekar, Shri. Vinod Patil, Shri. Vijay Nandgadkar, Shri. Bapu Sawant, Shri. Gopinath Mahagaokar were present while submitting the representation.
