Memorandum submitted to the CM, Karnataka by HJS
Bangalore (Karnataka): Hindu Janajagrtui Samiti (HJS) yesterday submitted representations to 9 District Collectors in the State demanding filing criminal case against ‘Kaumu Sauhard Vedike (KSV)’. The State Government of Karnataka has presented a draft in the Legislative Assembly for imposing ban on cow-slaughter in terms of the law passed in the year 1964 by the Central Government. The Bill has been opposed by KSV. To protest against the said Bill, the organization has been consuming beef outside the offices of various District Collectors in the State. Therefore, HJS has submitted the above representation to the Chief Minister.
It has been mentioned in the representation that the workers of KSV have been deliberately consuming beef outside the offices of the District Collectors hurting religious sentiments of Hindus who revere a cow and they are creating disorder in the State. This is an unpardonable offence. KSV has insulted all Hindus. The organization should be punished under the clauses 143, 153 (b), 295 and 295 (B) of the Indian Penal Code. The guilty should be punished so as to prevent such incidents in future. If such organizations keep on its efforts to disturb the harmony among the people, the State Government should consider imposition of ban on them.
