Why media is keeping quiet about Kasab’s superstition even after his killing 200 Indians ! – Sanatan Sanstha

Mumbai: Faith and action are two different things. The science may advance but it will not be in the interest of the human beings to ignore faith and their devotion towards God  or make mockery of God.  One cannot ignore the power of faith and devotion by capitalizing a single act. 200 Indians were killed by a terrorist like Kasab due to his superstition of acquiring a place in heaven and 70 fairies by fighting ‘jihad (religious war)’. Today, most of the terrorists carry out anti-national activities due to such superstitions. The media will capitalize on minor things but why is it keeping mum on such large scale superstitions? The above question was asked by Mr. Abhay Vartak, the spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha. He participated in a program called ‘Why target children?’ telecast on the channel ‘Star Maza’.

There was a custom observed in Bhatavade in Sangli district wherein a new-born baby used to be tied in a cradle and lowered in well-water. After touching the level of the water, it used to be brought out. Such custom was stopped by D. P. Metake, a District Collector with the help of Government machinery and that was the occasion to hold such program. Mr. Vartak said that scientists like Dr. Vijay Bhatkar and Dr. Abdul Kalam believe in God. An organization like ISRO first offers model of a space-ship created by it at the temple at Tirupati. Nobody should, therefore, condemn faith; when a mother, who is afraid to leave her child’s hand even for a second, allows her child to be lowered in a cradle to touch water, it is done out of her faith and a type of acknowledging God’s grace. It is done out of experience.

Prof. Shyam Manav said that there is nothing like experience. It is a convenient way of people to accept failure as destiny and success as experience. When children are thrown in water, it affects them mentally. This happens only due to influence of superstition. Dr. Jayant Dhake, a hypnotherapist said that it was ok if a coconut was offered; but nobody should play with child’s psychology.

Prof. Manav said some children thus left in water, have developed problems in their future life. Some of them might not be alive today. If the statistics of such cases is declared then it would help to eradicate such superstitions.  Mr. Vartak pointed out that IBN Lokmat news channel has already published that not a single child has been hurt in following such custom. (As Mr. Vartak started telling about the history of false evidence given by Prof. Manav, the editor of the channel disconnected his loudspeaker.)
