Agitation by HJS against insult of National Heroes and Saints

Mumbai: National Committee for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has insulted Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, worshipped all over Maharashtra, by publishing minimal and incorrect historical facts about him compared to aggressive and cruel Mughal invaders in the history text book set for 7th standard. In the background of the budgetary session of the Legislative Assembly in Mumbai, an agitation was staged at Azad Maidan from 11.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. for protesting against the above issue so also against the humiliation of Hindu Saints and spiritual organizations by the Government. A representation stating the demands will soon be submitted to the Government.  

Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav, mayor of Mumbai, Mr. Mandesh Sangale, MLA of MNS, Mr. Ramakant Rahate and Kumar Pande, municipal councilors of Shiv Sena, Mr. Bhaskar Nagare of Patanjali Yogapeetha, Mr. Mahadeo Chalke of Yogavedant Seva Samiti, Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts, members of Warakari Sampradaya, Shiv Sena, BJP, Bharat Swabhiman, Sree Sampradaya, organizations like Raigad District Action Committee, Bharat Jagruti Morcha, Sanatan Sanstha besides teachers, devout Hindus and nationalists participated in large numbers in the agitation.

The members of the organizations and parties were raising slogans against the anti-Hindu policy of the Government and displaying boards. It was demanded by the dignitaries taking part in the agitation that the Government should respect Hindu Saints and great national heroes like they do from other religions. A demand was also made to take stringent action against Abu Azmi, MLA of Samajwadi Party for his association with terrorists and for his false accusations against Hindu organizations. Boards to that effect were also displayed during the agitation.

Congress Govt. should be condemned – Mayor Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav

Mumbai Mayor, Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav said, “In the State of Goa, the curriculum is changed to add history of Shivaji Maharaj but not in Maharashtra which is shameful on the part of the State Government. How much ever we condemn the Government for omitting the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, will not be enough. It is unfortunate that agitations are required to be staged for creating awareness among Hindus.”

We will compel the Government to withdraw NCERT’s book – Mr. Mangesh Sangale, MLA

Mr. Mangesh Sangale, MNS MLA said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Hindvi Swaraj does not belong to only Maharashtra but to the whole country. We will take up the matter in Legislative Assembly and force the Government to withdraw NCERT’s text book. MLAs from all parties will come together to tackle this matter.”
