Jalgaon : Prompt action should be taken against 23 forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and although the forts are owned privately, they should be declared as protected monuments under the law. Once they are declared as protected monuments by the Government, owners cannot carry out any changes in the same. The decision of declaring such forts as protected monuments is entirely in the hands of the Government; therefore, this demand should be considered seriously, stated Shri. Prashant Juvekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, while addressing participants of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’.

Forts, which are personal property of individuals, but which are legacy of Shivachhatrapati, should be taken over by the Government and should be declared as protected monuments; ban should be imposed on crackers to avoid huge financial loss to the country and firm and stringent action should be taken against those who have been refusing permission for ‘Shri Durgapuja’ for last 4 years in Bengal. The above demands were made during demonstrations staged under the aegis of RHA on 15th October in front of Municipal Corporation’s office. Members of various organizations participating in demonstrations carried banners registering protest on different issues; raised slogans to draw Government’s attention and created awareness amongst citizens.

Bursting crackers when the country is facing financial constraints is against national interest ! – Yogesh Patil, Marathkheda devout Hindu

Bursting crackers is a foreign custom and has no scientific base. The country is going through severe financial constraints; people are not getting two square meals in a day. Bursting crackers and splurging money is therefore, against national interest in this situation. Many problems can be solved with this money, if used for welfare of the country. Moreover, that will also help in putting curb on noise and air pollution.

Take stringent action against those who have been refusing to grant permission to Hindus for performing ‘Durga-puja’ since last 4 years ! – Dattareya Waghulde, Sanatan Sanstha

Local administration of Kanglapahar village in Birbhum District of Bengal refused permission to Hindus for ‘Durga-pujan’ giving excuse of law and order problem. There are 300 houses of Hindus and only 25 houses of Muslims; still majority Hindus are deprived of their right to abide by their religious customs and traditions. It is against the Constitution of this country; so, Union Government should immediately intervene and do justice to Hindus by taking action against the guilty.
