Police responsible for disruption of law and order ! – Mr. Devendra Phadanavis, MLA
Nagpur (Maharashtra): Permission was granted for recitation of ‘Hanuman Stotra’ on the road by the traffic police and municipality on 3rd April at Nagpur; but the local police refused. (Now is there ban on Hindus for even recitation of ‘Stotras’? What are the police going to accomplish by threatening the Hindus with legal action? – Editor SP) Even then the people recited the ‘stotra’ in a temple. Police, however, took objection to even that and Police Inspector Deshmukh and Sub-inspector Suradkar barged in the temple without removing their shoes. (Would the police have dared to enter a place of worship belonging to non-Hindus? If such police is targeted by the non-Hindus, why should Hindus go for their protection? – Editor SP)
They also asked the devotees to turn off the loudspeaker. When the devotees questioned them, the police officers started abusing and caning the devotees and took them to the police station. (If there is an outrage of the people against the police for unnecessarily beating them and on the other hand, kowtowing to non-Hindus, will the police take the responsibility? – Editor SP) The Deputy Police Commissioner Anupkumar intervened which helped in avoiding any untoward incident taking place. Therefore, the police are reason for disruption of law and order. The above proposal was put forth by Shri. Devendra Phadanavis, BJP MLA under the Rule 93 and demanded in the Legislative Assembly that the Government should give an explanation. (Will the Government take note of the religious sentiments of Hindus ? – Editor SP)
