Panaji : On the eve of ‘Narak Chaturdashi’, it is a popular practice to hold competition of making Narakasura’s pictures. Unfortunately, leaders of all political parties are encouraging such competitions but MGP has decided to undertake a drive for performing ‘puja’ of Shrikrushna in every constituency and taluka, for preserving Indian culture and welfare of people; instead of encouraging Narakasura competitions. Shri. Narayan Sawant, the leader of MGP gave the above information during a press conference held at Panaji in Party’s office. He said, “Youth are busy in revelry, having fun till late night and on the following day, the day of Deepavali, they sleep till 2.00 p.m. Thus, they cannot celebrate the morning of Diwali. Young men remain out till late night even before Diwali for making pictures of Narakasura and their parents have no control over them. They turn to addictions. MGP has therefore, decided to gather together in every constituency and taluka; hold ‘sattavika’ programs like ‘bhajan (devotional songs)’ or reading of ‘Geeta’ etc” Sanatan’s opposition to Narakasura competitions and MGP’s such drive could be a coincidence ; but it is MGP’s own standpoint.” He gave answers to questions asked by reporters.

Drive for teaching Dharma and culture to our young generation ! – Shri. Sudin Dhavalikar

Few days back, MGP leader Shri. Sudin Dhavalikar had given information on this matter at party’s Bandoda office. He had said, “Today’s young generation is influenced by western culture. They need to be educated in matters related to our Dharma, Goa’s folk art and culture which is the purpose of undertaking this drive. During the period of ‘Puranas’, people were fed up of persecution by Narakasura and his bullying; therefore, Shrikrushna slew him to save people; but as time passed, undue importance is being given to Narakasura instead of Shrikrushna; therefore, it is an attempt to change this scenario and make the young generation aware of the significance of Shrikrushna.”
