Devout and patriotic Hindus exhibiting banners and posters

Ponda (Goa) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and all pro-Hindu organizations staged demonstrations at Ponda on 26th October demanding ban on manufacture and sale of crackers causing pollution and denigrating Deities; also ban should be imposed on Chinese crackers sold in illegal manner. Citizens should stop use of such crackers.

Hindus explaining to a shopkeeper

The demonstrations were started at Dada Vaidya Chowk; slogans were raised about boycotting Chinese products; use of indigenous products etc. Banners were displayed on bursting of crackers worth Rs. 3000 million, when the country was facing severe financial crisis, was a kind of sedition. Shri. Satyavijay Naik of HJS said that crackers with pictures of Deities and great national leaders were being sold on large scale. On bursting such crackers, pictures of Deities and great national leaders get torn to pieces and strewn all over roads. Such pieces get trampled by people or thrown in trash, mud etc leading to denigration of Deities and insult of our great national leaders. It hurts religious and patriotic sentiments of millions of Hindus. Now, even Chinese crackers are available in market which has large quality of poisonous chemicals; therefore, even if they are cheap, they are the most polluting crackers. There is ban on such Chinese crackers which cause pollution. Action should be taken even against persons selling such crackers.

The demonstrations were first staged at Dada Vaidya statue in the city; followed with demonstrations near Canara Bank; then at Bhavani Sadan and finally near ‘Varcha bazar’ entrance. The demonstrations were started with reciting of Ganapati Shloka. Shri. Jayesh Thali of HJS; devout Hindus like Shri. Santosh Kapadi, Shri. Pratap Naik, Shri. Anant Bendre and Shri. Ashok Prabhu participated in the demonstrations. ‘Hindutvavadis’, Shri. Ramesh Naik and Shri. Madhusudan Desai from Ponda expressed their views.

Highlights

1. Representation was submitted to R. V. Kurtadkar and Sons, a big trader of consumer products from Ponda. He immediately pasted that representation to backside wall of his shop and said that he would ask all his customers to read the representation. He appreciated HJS’ drive and extended support.

2. A group of 20 persons spontaneously joined the demonstrations.

3. Policemen from Intelligence Department visited the venue and made inquiry. (Why do police conduct inquiry into demonstrations held openly ? Do police conduct such inquiry into demonstrations held by non-Hindus ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
