Nizamabad : Local ‘Hindutvavadis’ undertook a drive for creating awareness amongst people towards ill effects of crackers under which representations were submitted to local government administrative offices.
1. Shri. Shriniwas associated with Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) brought together local pro-Hindu organizations and arranged a meeting for creating awareness towards issues like harm caused by crackers, boycotting Chinese crackers etc. Members of Bajarang Dal, ‘Hindu Vahini’, ‘Hindu Youth’, ‘Hindu Rashtra Utsav Samiti’ and HJS etc participated. It was decided in the meeting to distribute 10,000 handbills on these subjects for creating awareness; besides, display of 5 boards by every organization and propagation of these issues on local TV channels. Shri. Yadgiri and advocate Sharatchandra extended help in arranging the meeting.
2. A delegation of members from the above organizations submitted a representation to Shri. Venkateswarrao, the Joint District Collector of Nizamabad; after which Shri. Rao instructed Municipal Commissioner and Police Commissioner to take action against crackers with pictures of Deities.
3. The delegation submitted representation to the Municipal Commissioner and he issued instructions to officers from Municipality’s Health Department for conducting inspection in shops selling crackers. The office bearers of ‘Nava Telangana Vidyarthi Sena’ also participated in the drive.
4. Similar representations were submitted to the Chairman of Armur Municipality, Revenue officers from Bodhan, district Revenue officers from Karimnagar etc. Members of Shiv Sena and RSS were present on the occasion.
5. Advocate Sharatchandra lodged a complaint with police station at Nizamabad for taking action against crackers with Deities’ pictures. Police promised to take action after seeking legal advice in the matter.
6. A discussion session was held on K-6 TV channel on the topic of crackers. Shri. Chetan Janardan of HJS participated in this discussion program.
