New York:The Islamic Government of Kazakistan is trying to demolish Lord Krishna temple and houses of Hindus in Karsai district. The Government’s action is illegal. On 13th September, staunch Hindus staying in U. S. A. held peaceful demonstrations in front of Kazakistan’s embassy in Washington DC.
The demonstrations were conducted under the guidance of Shri. Anuttam Das, the President of ISCON’s Hare Krishna temple in Washington. The demonstrations ended with a speech from Shri. Das. About 75 persons participated in the demonstrations although it was a working day.
It was planned to meet the officials from the Kazakistan’s embassy. In fact, an appointment was also fixed with them but at the last moment, the meeting was cancelled. The demonstrations were like a warning to Kazakistan Government to learn a lesson and stop illegal demolition of Lord Krishna temple. Otherwise, be ready to face strong agitation during the proposed visit of the President of Kazakistan to U. S.A.
In the month of April, the local administration had sent a bulldozer to demolish the temple and houses of the devotees in the area. The Hindus, Human Rights Commission and Mass media made a noise against the move and stopped the bulldozer. The countries like USA, England and India took a note of this incident.
A few months ago, a Conference on Freedom to follow Religion’ was held in Kazakistan. Members of ISCON attended the Conference and brought it to the notice of other members that Kazakistan is trampling the very freedom. During 12th to 14th September, second conference was held in Kazakistan. On one hand, the country is organizing such conferences and on the other hand, it is overriding the rights of Hindus who are in minority. A staunch Hindu said that the demonstrations were held to show the world, the true nature of Kazakistan.
(Congratulations to staunch Hindus who take quick action for opposing the anti-Hindu activity! The minorities Hindus in America are trying to save temple in Kazakistan and majorities Hindus in India even not speak a word against it. This is the bad condition of Hindus in India. ? Editor)
