HJS demands to CM : Ban the Dakshinayan Conference at Margoa

Panaji : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has demanded to the Chief Minister to ban the Dakshinayan Conference to be held from 18th to 20th November at Margoa. A Memorandum was subimmited to the Chief Minister in this regards.

It is stated in the memorandum that, Datta Nayak has written an article under the title, ‘Secret of blond eyes of Kokanasta Brahmans’ in the issue of the supplement ‘Hello Ravivar’ of Dainik Lokmat dated 16th October 2016. He has insulted Brahman ladies in a very mean and insulting language. With regard to this article, ‘Chitpavan Brahman Sangh, Gomantak’ and many others have registered complaints against Datta Nayak in Panaji, Dicholi and Ponda police stations. Swatantryaveer Savarkar and Lokamany Tilak too are being insulted in this article through offensive language. It has been stated in the memorandum that the said article had hurt sentiments of the community. Datta Nayak has deliberately written this article without giving any proof, just due to feeling hatred towards the community so also to cause unrest by dividing the society. So-called progressive people have organised a Dakshinayan Conference in Margoa from 18th to 20th  November and the president of the organising committee is going to be Datta Nayak, the writer in dispute. When the conference is about to be held in a few days time, this disputed article is being published by him. There is discontent among the community for no action being taken for so many days despite making so many complaints against Datta nayak. There is a possibility that this issue in dispute might be put for discussion during the period of the Dakshinayan Conference and that might be like rubbing salt on the wound suffered by Brahmans. This might also cause law and order situation. Hence there is a possibility of disturbing the peace in peaceful Goa by holding Dakshinayan Conference here. On this background HJS is demanding a ban on this Dakshinayan Conference. A copy of this memorandum has also been given to the Deputy Inspector of police.
